Happy New Year (I Hope)

Mommy and I making dinner before the countdown. Grandma and I usually watch live video stream from her computer of Times Square on New Year's Eve. A special web cam starts about two hours before the ball drops, so we got to hear all the people packed into Times Square, and listen to live music and other events. Then the countdown, and we blew horns, pulled string on the poppers and threw confetti on each other!

The aftermath!

Christmas At Grandma's House 2010

I got just about everything on my list I sent to Santa Claus (except the $1,000 and the trip to Hawai'i). This is the IPod Shuffle that I got. My mom is loading up music for me. I am not allowed to take that to the other house I am staying at, but when I visit my mom or my grandma, they will let me have it to listen to music.

Here I am playing a new game on my PSP that Santa bought me, with Nadyiah and Mariam who came over to visit, as well as my mom's friend, Linda, who we shared New Year's eve with last year.

Mommy and me figuring out how to put on those finger flashlights that shoot blue light. They are cool.

Here is me being just silly!

I Finally Got To See Grandma!

I took this picture from my notebook computer that my grandma has at her house (she won't let me take it to the "other" house I am staying at). We had fun, but it was only two hours. We ate at a Denny's but it was not our usual one. Grandma said that we have to have a two hour visit first, and if we "pass" the test, we can have our "five hour" visit, which we are planning on having Christmas day. Grandma told me that since there are a lot of "families" that I will be visiting over the holidays, that Santa only delivers to one house. I mailed in my list to Santa right after Halloween, so grandma told me that Santa wrote back and said his gifts will be delivered to her house. Anything else signed "Santa" given to me at the other homes I will have to visit will not really be from Santa (laughing, because I know I am getting a lot of gifts, even if only a few are really from Santa, except grandma said that Santa does not give money, so my request for $1,000 is not going to be in my stocking, darn!)

This is me playing on my notebook computer after eating.

Here is a video of my mom and me, after my visit with grandma was over.

Lunch At The Grove

Here I am at the Grove on my usual Saturday afternoon outing with my grandma. We have lunch at Johnny Rockets and then do some shopping -- K-Mart for a toy or something for me, Whole Foods for grandma's weekly shopping, and CVS for a few items. This week I got a new toothbrush, one that has a battery in it and it vibrates as I brush my teeth!

Me As A Ninja Warrior Halloween 2010

My grandma and I carved this pumpkin! Neat, huh?

Here is the costume I chose for Halloween. Even though I am not allowed to go out trick or treating this year (because I was punished for something I did bad), my grandma let run around the apartment building and knock on her door, and she had lots of candy for me!

Trick or treat, smell my feet, give me something good to eat!

More Singing, Eating, And Buying Things!

I had my singing class today, and had french toast, fruit and a milkshake at the diner across the street from the school

Later we went to Hollywood so grandma could pay some bills.

Afterward, we went to K-Mart and I bought a fun ninja costume (not to wear for Halloween, but to play at grandma's house) because I have a lot of swords and knives and other ninja stuff!

ComedySportzKids

Today grandma took me to a performance of the improvisation at ComedySportz, which every first Saturday of the month they do a Saturday ComedySportzKids.

It is an interactive improv, and I was featured three times! My grandma took pictures from her cell phone, some videos from her video camera, and some still shots from her video camera. For some reason, the batteries stopped working, and so she couldn't take a lot of video. Grandma did, however, get two little sound bites of the three actors making up a birthday song to me, and she recorded it on her cell phone which is cool!

My first bit was when I was onstage with the three actors and four other kids in the audience, and whenever they pointed to one of us, we had to say a word, and then they would continue with their improv. My best word was when someone said "and then I gave her my ..." and pointed to me, and I said "my flat screen tv!" Ha ha.

Then they asked if anyone had a birthday, and I raised my hand because I turn 8 on Monday, September 13. So I was brought to the stage and the group made up a song with a guitar and sang it. My grandma's video was not working but she managed to capture two 20 second sound bites, which is way cool.

Part one. Part two. (When you get to the DivShare page, just click on "download" and you can listen to the .wav file).

Then I participated in the finale, which had all the kids up on the stage (and some adults) and we all had to sing animal sounds (my group was lions), and one of the actors would "direct" or "conduct" us and we had to sing our sounds (there were cow's mooing, and chickens clucking) for the grand finale.

I had a really good time, and would like to go back again next month!

Birthday Party!!!

I went to a birthday party for one of my grandma's co-workers. I am staying with grandma because my mother is in New York City celebrating her 30th birthday!

I got a lot of candy. I stuffed it in the leg in the picture and brought it home.

The two pinatas.

Week At Grandma's House

I stayed at my grandma's house all week, starting on Friday before Memorial day. My mommy has finals and had to study all week, so my grandma said she'd take care of me at her house.

I went to work every day with grandma. It was not as boring as I thought it would be. Mostly because she decided to go in after noon, and leave early.

I played on my computer, with my headset on so I didn't bother anyone at my grandma's work. We ate out a lot for dinner.

Here's me taking a bubble bath!

Here I am with a plastic bag on my head!

I had fun at grandma's house. And because I am off school for the summer, I did not have ANY BEDTIME! Yippeee!!

My First Day At The Beach This Year!

Grandma took me to the beach at Santa Monica today. We rode the bus, but it didn't take long.

We left early and spent hours there. I had fun throwing mud and water at the other kids and them throwing it back at me.

I fell asleep on the bus ride back home, though.

Neat Cemetery

After Grandma and I went to see How To Train Your Dragon, she showed me this neat cemetery where she would like to be buried when she dies. We walked all over the place. It was nice and quiet, and I liked it.

Just Another Day In The Park!

We put a baby turtle on the boat and it floated away. The turtle then crawled off the boat.

I was sharing my little boats with all the kids in the park, even the girls!

Sometimes the boats did not float back right away, so we had to use one of the flowers with a long stem to catch the boats and bring them back.

Here, I am waiting for one of my boats to float back to me.

We are using the plant to pull the boats back. You can see one sailboat right in front of us, and the little boy blowing his boat out to "sea." We are trying to pull in the red boat.

Later on, grandma and I played catch in the little kids' playground, which has one slide, a few swings and two teeter-totters. Then we went and got dinner from Baja Fresh, took the bus back home, and I got a smoothie from Robeks (I always get the junior hummingbird with Kidbek added!)

New Year's Eve!

I spent New Year's eve with my grandma and Linda. Grandma likes to watch the webcam in Times Square live, so we celebrate at 9:00 p.m., which is midnight in New York. Here are some pictures.

This is some of the silly string we sprayed all over. Some of it even got on the ceiling. My grandma still has not gotten all of it off of some places (tee hee).

This is me and Linda. She's having champagne, and I am having Martinellis cider!

Linda and me having fun!

HAPPY NEW YEAR, everyone!

Red Bull Soapbox Race Was A Bummer

Grandma took me to see the soapbox races Saturday, in downtown Los Angeles. As you can see by these photographs, we were right at the railing and could see everything.

My grandma got some video of the skydiver and the NASCAR car doing a 180.

But, after the skydiving, the security moved the gates, and the crowd rushed over my grandma and I, and instead of being up in the front row, we were pushed back (because we were sitting in our chairs), and ended up so far away that not only could we not see the race, we could not even see the jumbotron!
So, we left, not being able to see a single box car. We went to the Grove, instead, and grandma let me ride the motorcycle game.

Me Running In 2009 L.A. Marathon!

I ran again in the L0s Angeles Marathon. Of course, since I am only six, I can't run the whole 26 miles. Every year, since I was two, I run a little farther. Last year, my grandma and I ran a whole mile!

Seeing Santa, Listening To Jazz, And Playing In Live Art!

I went with grandma to 7th and Fig to see Santa on Saturday. Santa asked me what I wanted for Christmas, and I told him I wanted a bike. Santa said he would have his elves work on it for me. High five to Santa!

Then Grandma and I ate some lunch and watched a jazz band play jazz Christmas songs. The lead singer asked me some questions in between one of her songs. I guess she knew I liked jazz music by the way I bopped my head and snapped my fingers (like my grandma has taught me).

When we were ready to leave, grandma and I discovered this art place, showing the work of Cheryl Walker. She had some nice pieces of art on the wall, but I had more fun running through the streamers of colored panels of plastic sheets.
